The London Palladium production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC is set to hit Australian shores once more. Presented by Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Frost, David Ian and the Really Useful Group, this iconic family favourite is set to open at the stunning Capitol Theatre in December 2015.
Directed by Jeremy Sams, the production stars Amy Lehpamer as Maria, Cameron Daddo as Captain von Trapp, Marina Prior as Baroness Schrader and Australian television icon Lorraine Bayly as Frau Schmidt.
Stefanie Jones features as loved family favourite - Sixteen Going on Seventeen - Liesl von Trapp, alongside recent WAAPA graduate Du Toit Bredenkamp as Rolf Gruber. Jones's performance earned her stellar reviews as well as seeing her listed in Insider's 2016 Faces To Watch.
Fifty-five years on, THE SOUND OF MUSIC continues to delight with its romance and family values tugging at the heartstrings, against a backdrop which touchingly juxtaposes the beauty of Austrian Alps, and the deep bonds of humanity with encroaching Nazism and the imminence of a word-shattering war. Our love affair with this landmark musical continues, unabated, drawing packed houses to Sydney's Capitol Theatre for the premiere.
After completion of a highly successful Sydney season, THE SOUND OF MUSIC embarked on a national tour through Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
